About Hartford's (Ex) Mayor

In the internet age, things change rapidly and for a city like Hartford, no one expects everything on the City website to always be up to date. But it might be time for Hartford to update the "About Hartford's Mayor" page.  It has been a few months, and given the disgraceful manner in which Eddie Perez resigned office, it might be best to at least take this page down. But while it's up, let's check out some now ironic statements.

" Because of his passion for education and providing opportunities to Hartford's young people, Mayor Perez also serves as a member of the Board of Education."

"Mayor Perez is recognized as a national leader and is one of the "Top 100 Most Influential Hispanic Leaders" according to Hispanic Business Magazine. "

"Mayor Perez lives the American Dream everyday and wants to make that dream a reality for all residents of the Capital City. "

"By changing the City Charter in 2002, he is now the CEO of Hartford."

"The residents of Hartford look to Eddie Perez as the person they trust to lead the city on the path to economic recovery and financial stability."

"The people who have experienced this American Dream story first hand are members of his family."

Just another list of reasons why we love politicians!

  1. Thank You Eddie Perez, for being at the helm during one for one of the biggest corporate exits in Hartford history. I guess union pressure and other tactics didnt work all that well.

  2. Eddie nearly killed my American Dream twice. He nearly ran me over on two separate occasions while I was crossing Hudson at Pulaski Circle. I was in the crosswalk both times. Each time I had waited my turn, but he didn't brake for more than a split-second before cutting me off. Glad he's off the streets.
