So Long, Rick the Ruler

As shown in a previous post there is a pretty unique mural on Cedar St. of the Los Solidos gang member Rick the Ruler, who met an unfortunate end in a shooting back in '97.

Welp, as of the day before yesterday, this mural no longer exists.

Ed. Note: Is this more Sad City inspired spring cleaning?

Surely, it is understandable that maybe Hartford officials don't want to have murals around town glorifying violent gang members of yore, but man! That was a cool mural! Now it's just an ugly brown wall.

Why not? We have statues around town that celebrate historic gang members and war lords. Ye Olde Windsor town green even has a monument for John Mason.

  2. I wondered what happened to that mural. I have a birdseye view of that particular section of Park Street and Cedar Street from my office building and I thought I was seeing things the other day when something white briefly covered the wall for the day.

Man, another part of my white noise shot to pieces.
