"Snoop We Got News...."

"Your girl was trickin' while you was draped in your county blues." Wait, wait, wait a minute. Wrong Snoop. We meant to refer to America's third most famous Snoop, Felicia "Snoop" Pearson, famous as  a cold-blooded assassin from the greatest tv show ever made, The Wire. While this blog is primarily about Hartford, it was in no small part inspired by an attempt to write a Wire inspired script based on Hartford. In fact The Wire has probably been mentioned more than anything on this blog outside of pay phones and Mexican food.

We were excited to learn from The Hartford Courant that Snoop Pearson will be appearing at The Wadsworth Thursday, January 5th at 8PM to sign copies of her autobiography Grace After Midnight. If you aren't familiar, it would be a worthwhile read as she has quite the story.

Snoop appears in the upcoming film Diamond Ruff which shot scenes in Hartford a few months back. Diamond Ruff writer Joe Young will also be at The Wadsworth on Thursday when The Wadsworth will screen a trailer of Diamond Ruff along with two episodes of The Wire.

While we think the after discussion with the museum crowd might be possibly the only way to diminish a viewing of The Wire, it should still be a very cool and very worthwhile outing. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students, free to members. More info at http://www.wadsworthatheneum.org.

While we don't know what episodes The Wadsworth plans to air, Jumper and Hakaan did happen to have a late night Christmas Eve conversation about the five best scenes in The Wire. Easily making the list was this Snoop scene that opened up season four. (Language NSFW)
