Longstanding NYC Envy

One of the biggest mistakes Hartfordites can make is to compare our fine city to New York City. It's like comparing Pedro Martinez to Kent Tekulve. Its not a rational nor useful comparison to make. Sadly, due primarily to geography, it is a comparison Hartford will continue to have to bear. You never hear anyone go "Oh St. Petersburg is ok, but its not NYC."

Anyway, while on a stroll down Park St, we found this old advertisement boasting a product as "Direct From New York." It looks like it could say "Free Wash" but we can't make it out. Whatever it is, old advertisements are cool, even more so when they are painted on the side of a brick building.

  1. That advertisement on a brick building is ok, but it's no advertisement on a brick building in New York.

  2. Nice call #1. Dead on #2, nothing in Hartford could ever be as cool as something in NYC. Basically we're like it's AA team.
