Hot In Hartford 2012 carries with the a battle between WNPR's Chion Wolf and downton's The Russian Lady. Ironically the last time we saw Ms. Wolf was at The Russian Lady at a Beat City Beauties show. Kind of like a Sad City blender of an evening. We can't choose, while The Russian Lady served us drinks, Ms. Wolf had a drink with us. You can't really have one without the other can you?

Sad City & WCCC Discuss Pizza

A couple of weeks ago we more or less unwittingly had a pizza week here at Sad City. First, we had the Sad City Guide To West Pizza and then that was followed up with a New Haven Edition of Sad City Travels. People sure do love and are passionate about their pizza.

Sad City Hartford checks in with Craig The Porn Star of WCCC every Wednesday to discuss the news in Hartford. This Wednesday we checked in from the grand opening of The Russian Lady, the legendary downtown bar that has returned to Hartford.

One Year of Sad City and WCCC

July 21, 2011 marks one year since Sad City Hartford first called into WCCC to chat with our friend Craig The Pornstar. It also happens to be Craig's birthday. We'd place his age at somewhere between his mid 20's and late 30's, but you know how weird celebrities can be about their age. Back when Craig first found Sad City we had about 40 fans on Facebook and weren't even on Twitter yet. So no doubt Craig and WCCC were some of the earliest Sad City fans. In honor of our anniversary and his birthday we thought we'd go back into the archives and post some of the more memorable on-air calls with Craig and Sad City.

Sad City And WCCC

It is a long standing tradition for Sad City to call into WCCC 106.9 on Wednesday nights and discuss Hartford happenings with on-air personality Craig The Porn Star.  These calls have been going on for almost a solid year as Craig was one of the first supporters of Sad City.  Since both Sad City creators are huge radio fans and huge fans of a certain radio host that long ago worked for WCCC, we love the chance to be on Connecticut's Greatest rock station, which also happens to be located right in town on Asylum Street.

After the jump catch up with these calls that usually air around 9:30 Wednesday nights.  Topics include; Hartford's most awkward bathroom, urban camping, Tastease, and springtime mattress invasions.   Tune into the WCCC to hear Craig weekdays from 7 to midnight and any time of day to hear Connecticut's best rock station.

Hakaan spoke with Craig The Porn Star on WCCC about Hartford's athletic heroes. The discussion hit on former Whalers, University of Hartford Hawks, and Weaver Beavers. Fresh off the heels of Halloween, tomorrow November 2nd, is Election Day. It's your day to have a say in who will be representing the State so make sure to get out and vote. Can the wrestling CEO deliver the "Stone Cold Stunner"  to the long-tenured AG? Will third-party Congressional candidates make a meaningful impact? The race for Governor looks like a dead heat.

Sad City is happy to announce that Hakann Loob will be appearing on WNPR's The Colin McEnroe Show on Tuesday October 5 from the 1PM-2PM hour. The program can be heard on 90.5 on the FM dial in the Hartford area. Sad City will be in studio while The Colin McEnroe Show speaks with Ammon Shea about his new book, The Phone Book: The Curious History of the Book Everyone Uses But No One Reads.
