Just as it's a slow week at the office for many last week, it was a slow week on the ice for the Whale who only skated once, taking the ice in Hartford against Adirondack on Wednesday night. With only one game during the week, the Whale made the most of it and once again gave the Hartford fans an exciting show en route to a 3-2 victory at the XL Center on a great goal by Pavel Valentenko with 16 seconds to play that thrilled the crowd and sent everyone home happy.
The victory extended the Whales lead in the Northeast Division to five points. The upcoming week is a big one for the Whale. Tonight they travel down I-95 to face Bridgeport and then return to Hartford tomorrow night for a crucial matchup with the second place Albany Devils. The Whale then travel to Worcester Friday night and return home for a 5PM New Years Eve tilt against the Springfield Falcons.
Tomorrow will be a great chance to see a first-second place matchup and a 5PM game on Saturday will be a great way to kick off New Years Eve. Highlights from Wednesday are below.
