With its low self-esteem and high urban blight, Hartford is the ultimate underdog city. Sad City Hartford documents the joys, sorrows and eccentricities of New England's Rising Star.

Hot In Hartford Finale: McEnroe v. Cotto

It all comes down to this. Sixteen of Hartford's cultural elite were pitted in against each other and while all competitors battled valiantly only Colin McEnroe and Luis Cotto remaining standing. Now it's time for these two battle tested warriors to meet in one final clash to determine who will be crowned "Hot In Hartford."

Colin McEnroe has reached the finals by defeating J.Stan McCauley, Reverend Brown, and Jenna Carlesso. Considered one of the favorites at the start of the contest, McEnroe has not disappointed, racking up impressive vote totals in each round. Known for his popular blog and radio show, McEnore's radio listeners helped him engineer an impressive comeback in the semi-finals when he was down early in the voting. Can they help him earn one final victory?

Many experts consider Hartford Councilman Luis Cotto the surprise of the tournament. Not considered by most to be amongst the front runners at the start contest, Cotto has racked up vote totals only matched by McEnroe throughout. Having defeated Scott Haney, Gerry Brooks, and Howard Baldwin on his march to the finals, Cotto has blazed an impressive trail of fallen opponents in his wake.  Can the Councilman pull a final upset and claim the title of "Hot in Hartford?"

Voting ends at 11:59 EST Friday night.

Who is the champion of "Hot In Hartford?"

  1. Luis all the way! He is a true man and believer of Hartford. Not to mention he already defeated 3 stronger contenders then McEnroe. Does McEnroe even live here?

  6. Anyone who questions Colin's commitment to the City obviously hasn't seen his Facebook page and the umpteen photo's of him at cool Hartford events OR heard his show as he's highlighted kick ass folk like Anne Cubberly, Jacques LaMarre, Greg Garcia, etc... I can only wish to be that irrelevant and old at some point.

    But, yeah...vote for me! :)

  12. Colin McEnroe is neither irrelevant, old, nor an idiot. He's one of the most intelligent and engaging people in our fair city. And there are those who think he's pretty d*** hot.

  13. Can't believe Cotto one. It's like a cross between the 1980 Miracle on Ice and that time that Emmitt Smith won Dancing With The Stars.
